Virgie Hare duTreil, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013 at the age of 83 years, at her home in Folsom. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Abele Nadau duTreil and her brother Donald Paul Hare, Sr. She was born in New Orleans on May 19, 1930 to the late Stuart Charles Hare and Vergie Fonseca Hare. She is survived by her daughter Terri duTreil Chabaud, son-in-law Aaron Barth Chabaud and her grand-daughters Kathryn Renee’ duTreil Chabaud and Victoria Leigh duTreil Chabaud. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends.
Her life outside of her family was devoted to the ownership and management of River Road Kennels and River Road Radio of LaPlace, Louisiana where she was a longtime resident. Her beautiful home and the wildlife that inhabited the grounds and lake were her refuge in her later years. She was a generous woman always joking with friends and family. The sounds of laughter followed her wherever she went. Like Will Rogers, she saw strangers as ‘just a friend I haven’t met yet’. She will be missed greatly by all whose lives she touched.
A special thanks to Jenny King, RN and all the staff of Concerned Care Hospice as well as the staffs of Aspen Pharmacy and Patio Healthcare for their loving care of Miss Virgie during the last days of her life and their commitment to Hospice care.
