

Wanda Reva Prejean Martello, age 89, joined her Lord on Friday, January 29, 2021. She was born in Opelousas, Louisiana to the late Carrol Joseph Prejean and Julie Henry Prejean. She was the beloved wife of the late Dominic Joseph Martello. Loving mother of Angeli M. Juneau (Bryan), and Michelle M. Rihner (Billy). Loving grandmother to Annick Burke (Joshua), Toni Dugas (Lane), Devin Juneau, and great grand-son Dominic Harold Dugas.
Wanda’s life explorations began as she left for New Orleans to study Nursing at Hotel Dieu. She was most proud of her nursing career spanning from staff nurse to hospital administrator, at the NOLA Veterans Administration and East Jefferson General Hospital community. Loving archaeology, history, and anthropology, she travelled frequently whether by plane, train, car, bus, or boat. Wanda enjoyed the bright colors of Australia, Canada, and her favorite archaeological sites were frequently found in Mexico and the Marksville Indian Mounds. Whether in Silver Springs, Galveston, D.C., or Biloxi, Wanda always enjoyed having her Nick and family along for the discoveries.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 11:00 am. Visitation from 9:00 am until time of service. A private family inurnment will follow at a later date.
