Yvonne “Cookie” Drouilhet, a loving mother, wife, grandmother, devoted family member, and dear friend to all, who truly never met a stranger, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, in Folsom, Louisiana.
Born on January 11, 1945, Cookie lived a life defined by unwavering faith, deep devotion to her family, and a generous spirit. She worked as a part-time bookkeeper, a career she began shortly after graduating from high school and continued faithfully throughout her life. Even in her later years, she prepared a handful of tax returns for lifelong friends.
Cookie’s greatest joy was being a full-time mother, wife, and homemaker. She shared 36 wonderful years with her beloved late husband, John C. Todd, Jr., and after his passing, she was blessed with 20 loving years with her husband, the late Raymond Drouilhet.
She was the devoted mother of Suzanne Todd Hutton (Mike), Mark Todd, and Melissa Todd (Zachariah). She also lovingly embraced her stepchildren: Terri Walters (Gary), Sherri Blackwood (David), Sonny Drouilhet (Kelly), and Timothy Drouilhet (Andree), stepdaughter-in-law, Cindy Drouilhet, as well as being an incredibly loving dog mom to her constant companion, Rascal.
Cookie was a proud grandmother to Christopher Hutton (Racquel), Allison Hutton Wilson (Zachary), and Kyle Todd, as well as step-grandmother to T.J. Theil (Jolene), Brandi Puisseger (Andrew), John Paul Drouilhet (Rachel), Jeanne Celwell (Chris), Angele Baczmaga (Daniel), Kara Blackwood (Mark), and Amelia Mary.
Her legacy continues through her step great-grandchildren: Lucas Puisseger, Shawn Puisseger, Charlotte Sanders, Eathan Sanders, Magdalena Baczmaga, Lucasz Baczmaga, and Casey Babin, as well as her step great-great-grandchild, Sully Babin.
Cookie was preceded in death by her parents, Earl J. Pursell, Sr. and Ellen Austin Pursell; her husbands, John C. Todd, Jr. and Raymond Drouilhet; her son, John C. Todd, Jr.; her stepson, Patrick Drouilhet (Cindy); her sisters, Reginamae Pursell Behan and Earleen Pursell Bernard; and her brother, Earl J. Pursell, Jr.
A devout Catholic throughout life, Cookie was a faithful member of St. Ann Church and Shrine. Her deep faith sustained her through life’s many challenges, including the heartbreaking losses of her husbands, John and Ray, and her son, Johnny.
Family and friends are invited to honor Cookie’s life at a visitation on January 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Ann Church and Shrine, 3601 Transcontinental Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70006. A Catholic Mass will follow at noon. Interment will take place at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum, 5454 Pontchartrain Boulevard, New Orleans, Louisiana.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
