

He leaves behind his sons: Jose A. Ochoa, Mario D. Ochoa, and Acacio A. Ochoa; daughters: Ana C. Fornes, Elizabeth Monzon; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and many close friends.
Born in Holguin, Cuba on April 9, 1930 and raised in Havana, the son of Antonio Ochoa and Ana Hernandez. Acacio then came to the United States in 1960 and became and American citizen. He first lived in New York where all his children were born and spent most of his his entire life in the great city of Miami.
Acacio followed in the family trade and became a jeweler and practiced this unique trade his entire life. He met his wife, Julia Leyva, in Macabi, Cuba and married in 1961 when she then traveled to New York to be with him.
Mr. Ochoa had worked in several different jewelry firms and companies in New York and Miami and was passionate about his trade and work. He worked in the field for over 35 years and then in 1992 retired to enjoy time with family and friends.
Acacio's passion for electronics and remote control airplanes made him an advent Ham Radio Operator whom most of his family and friends knew as "KA4AUX!" He loved building radios and remote control aircraft from start to finish and seeing his product at work by speaking to people all over the world, to spending a beautiful sunny day flying the blue skies with an R/C.
A great family man, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at family events and gatherings. Acacio was very proud as an American in this country and to have all his family to him.
Funeral service will be held November 5th at Caballero Rivero Kendall Funeral Home at 7355 S.W. 117th Avenue in Kendall starting at 6pm and burial will be November 6th at Dade South Memorial Park at 11am.
