

Alba Manuela Espinosa Del Rio, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, in Miami, Florida, preceded in death by her father Roberto, mother Maria, and husband Guillermo. Born on October 21, 1937, in the vibrant city of Cartagena, Colombia, Alba's life was a testament to love, resilience, and family.
Alba was the beloved wife of Guillermo Rafael Del Rio, with whom she shared a life filled with love, dancing, and partnership. Together, they built a family that became the cornerstone of Alba's life. She was a devoted mother to her five sons: Guillermo Roberto (Mayra); Mario Enrique (Ogy); Ivan Antonio (Myrian); Franklin Eduardo (Yira); and Roberto Dionisio (Kathleen). Her family was her pride and joy. She dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting them, bringing her five boys to the United States and instilling family values, work ethic, and exceedingly high standards.
In her third act, Alba rejoiced in her role as grandmother to Ana Maria, Mauricio, Roberto Jr., Ivan Jr., Noemi, Mayra, David, Mario, Esteban, Michael, Antony, and Mila, and later as great-grandmother to Kilani, Nikolas, Zoey, Jake, Aloma, Gianna, Ava, Margot, Izraelle, Madeleine, Zion, and Lilia.
Alba was also a loving sister to Roberto Espinosa, with whom she shared a deep bond. Her family ties extended beyond her immediate family, as she was known for her warmth and generosity, touching the lives of many with her kindness and compassion.
Throughout her life, Alba was admired for her strength, humor, and grace. Her journey from Cartagena to Chicago, and later Miami, was marked by her unwavering commitment to her family and her ability to adapt, thrive, and have fun no matter the circumstances. She leaves behind a legacy of love and joy that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Visitation will be Friday, November 29th from 5 p.m. to midnight at Caballero Rivero Funeral Home 3344 SW 8th St, in Miami. Family and friends will gather at Caballero Rivero Saturday November 30th at 1 p.m. with burial to follow at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn North.
Alba will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories of her bright spirit and loving heart. Her life was a beautiful testament to the power of love and family, and her memory will dance on in the hearts of those she touched.
