Amelia was born on November 1, 1958 in Havana, Cuba to Juana Castro and Evelio Grana. Her childhood was spent roaming the streets of Cuba playing and laughing with all the neighborhood kids but her real passion was dancing. Dancing is where she really shined and what she is remembered by. Amelia had two wonderful child, Lizbell and Jose, who danced by her side every second of her life. Her ultimate dance partner is her loving husband Jose, who made sure that she was always the center of attention and the star of the dance floor.
Amelia made it a point to have her grandchildren as the center of her universe, constantly showering them with love and gifts and stories. From the moment they were born, she was attentive and bragged to anyone who would listen about her new joy. When she arrived in the United States, she was constantly out and about surrounded by friends and family who could not get enough of her.
Amelia is survived by her husband Jose, two children Lizbell and Jose, her grandchildren Gabriella, Genexis, Kevin, Devin and Jade. While she is gone in her physical body, she is never far from our memories and our hearts.

Entierro will be held at Caballero Rivero Dade South, 14200 SW 117th Ave, Miami, FL 33186, US, on August 5, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
