

Angela Cardoso De Vilhena, 51, of Washington, D.C., passed away on May 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Angela lived a vibrant, spirited life—she embraced every moment with energy, independence, and bold determination. Known for her fierce self-confidence and joyful presence, she pursued her goals with passion and lived each day to the fullest.
A lover of travel, wellness, and self-care, Angela followed a vegan lifestyle and was deeply committed to nurturing both her body and spirit.
Angela was born in French Guiana, a region in South America neighboring Suriname, and moved with her family to France at the age of two. After a year of primary school in France, her family relocated to Miami, Florida, where she attended Corpus Christi School through eighth grade, then graduated from Coral Gables High School. She later moved to New York, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Adelphi University.
Following her studies, Angela settled in Washington, D.C., where she built a fulfilling career in administrative roles, most recently at George Washington University Hospital.
Angela was deeply loved by her family and friends. She is survived by her devoted parents, Osmar and Edith Cardoso De Vilhena, and her beloved Aunt Yvette Juene.
She is also survived by her brothers: Lyonel Renaud (Laura), Paul Renaud (Nicole), Richard Renaud (Maxlene), and Marihno Cardoso. Her cherished nieces and nephews include Jayla Renaud, Skylar Cardoso De Vilhena, Christina Renaud, Richard Renaud,Jr. (Justina), Marc-Paul Renaud, Jon-Luc Renaud, and Jayden Renaud, as well as her grand-niece Harlen Renaud.
She is also survived by her best friend, Kristal, who stood by her side with unwavering love and support.
Angela leaves behind a wide circle of cousins, extended family, and dear friends who adored her. Her D.C. community was especially close to her heart, and she will be deeply missed by those whose lives she touched.
We would be remiss not to mention her beloved Yorkshire Terrier, Papillon, who brought her immense joy and remains a treasured part of her legacy.
Angela’s light, laughter, and love will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
