Bessie Shook, 89, of Miami, Florida passed away with loving family by her side on November 2, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Miami, Florida. Born in Massillon, Ohio, Bessie was the daughter of Europe and Jim George. She worked at Enterprise Aluminum Company after graduating from Washington High School. She met her husband Warren Shook while square dancing, married him in 1954 and soon had 4 children. They moved to Miami, Florida in 1964. She worked as an Administrative Secretary at the training department of the Miami Dade County Fire Department from which she retired in 1994. Bessie’s crowning achievement was being the matriarch of a family who will miss her dearly. She is survived by her children Linda (Paul) Kragh, Brenda (David) Mosier, Michael (Whitney) Shook and daughter-in-law Ruth Shook; grandchildren Melanie (Michael) Peterson, Julie Kragh, Kelly (Arnold) Almaguer, Lauren Mosier, Craig Shook, Andy Shook, Abby Shook, Connor Shook; great-grandchildren Jacob and Matthew. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren and her son Jeffrey Shook.
A private family service will be held at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn Park South, 11655 SW 117 Avenue, Miami, Florida 33186 in lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to American Heart Association or Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
