

Carl Wheeler, 76, of Plantation passed away at home on Saturday (March 19, 2022) following several health complications. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 25 at 2:30 p.m. at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 9200 SW 107th Ave. in Miami. Burial will be at Woodlawn Park Cemetery South directly after. A Celebration of Life will follow the burial from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm at 6691 SW 16th Street, Plantation.
Carl Wheeler was born October 26, 1945 and was adopted along with his brother Richard by his parents Roy and Kay. He fell in love with surfing at an early age in Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Cuba where he spent most of his childhood before entering the Navy. After leaving the military, Carl spent 31 years working with Delta Airlines before retiring. He kept busy in his spare time with his passion for cars, especially his Porsche, and was an avid tennis player. He had an enthusiasm for his gardens, his orchids and enjoying life. He’s known for his fastidious nature with all that he did, reminding everyone, “Don’t lean on the car!”
Carl was blessed with two loving wives. He is preceded in this world by his wife Kathy and survived by his wife and best friend Cynthia. He raised two sons, Jonathan and Jason with patience, discipline and humility. He was kind and soft spoken and always had time for his grandchildren Emma, Cade, Kylan, Salvo and Sofia. Carl adored simple pleasures like spending time with his wife and his grandkids. Carl truly loved his family and he made life enjoyable just by being near them. He will be missed by all that knew him.
