Celia was born in Nueva Paz, Cuba on 6/29/1947. Celia moved to Miami in 1962 and spent a year and half in Miami. She then joined her parents and brother in Boston, Massachusetts. She is preceded in death by her brother Luis Garcia who passed away from kidney failure. This was her inspiration for becoming a Dialysis Nurse later in her successful career. She began in the medical field working at hospitals in both Boston and Chicago in the mid to later 70s. She then became a fully licensed nurse in the early 80s shortly after her only son Phillipe was born. She moved away from Boston in early 1989 and joined Baptist Hospital in Miami, Florida starting in ICU and then Dialysis. She then spent the last 18 years as the head of the Dialysis Department.
Aside from taking great pride in her work she liked to cook and create artworks. During the summer she spent the weekends working on restoring old picture frames that her parents bought in Europe over 50 years ago.
Celia is also preceded in death by her parents known as Noelia Garcia and her father Guillermo Garcia. She is survived by her loving son Phillippe Hoffing and remaining family members in Cuba whom she fondly cared for and communicated regularly via emails and phone calls.
