

Concepción (Concha) Fernández, una persona de gran calidez y amor, falleció en paz el 26 de febrero de 2024 en Coral Gables, Florida. Nació en La Habana, Cuba, de padres inmigrantes de España al igual que sus hermanos Carmen, Manuel, Roberto y Rosa que fallecieron antes que ella. El extraordinario viaje de Concha por la vida estuvo marcado por la gracia, la bondad y la devoción inquebrantable a su familia y amigos.
En su adolescencia, la belleza cautivadora, la sonrisa radiante y el encanto de Concha conquistaron el corazón de José Fernández, quien se convertiría en su amado esposo durante más de 70 años hasta su fallecimiento en 2018. Juntos compartieron un duradero vínculo de amor y compromiso.
Su unión fue bendecida con un hijo, Joseph Fernández. En 1961, en medio de tiempos turbulentos, Concha y José tomaron la valiente decisión de abandonar Cuba, en busca de una vida mejor para su familia. Se establecieron en Nueva York, donde construyeron una vida llena de amor, resistencia y determinación. En 1985, abrieron un nuevo capítulo en Coral Gables, donde continuaron cultivando sus preciados lazos familiares y cultivando amistades para toda la vida.
El espíritu de Concha sigue vivo a través de su devoto hijo, Joseph Fernández, y su esposo, Anthony Stewart, quienes la apreciaban sin medida. También le sobreviven su querida sobrina, Lourdes Ciarlo y su familia; sus sobrinos Juan Carlos García y su esposa Sara García y su familia y Roberto García y su esposa Fátima García y su familia; y su dedicada cuidadora durante muchos años, Roxana Rodríguez. Deja atrás innumerables amigos y personas cuyas vidas fueron tocadas por su calidez y compasión.

Concha's remarkable journey through life was marked by grace, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
In her teenage years, Concha's captivating beauty, radiant smile, and charm won the heart of José Fernandez, who would become her beloved husband for over 70 years until his passing in 2018. Together, they shared an enduring bond of love and commitment.
Their union was blessed with a son, Joseph Fernandez. In 1961, amidst turbulent times, Concha and José made the courageous decision to leave Cuba, seeking a better life for their family. They settled in New York, where they built a life filled with love, resilience, and determination. In 1985, they embraced a new chapter in Coral Gables, where they continued to nurture their cherished family bonds and cultivate lifelong friendships.
Concha's spirit lives on through her devoted son, Joseph Fernandez, and his spouse, Anthony Stewart, who both cherished her beyond measure. She is also survived by her beloved niece, Lourdes Ciarlo and her family; by her nephews Juan Carlos Garcia and wife Sara Garcia and their family and Roberto Garcia and wife Fatima Garcia and their family; and by her dedicated caregiver of many years, Roxana Rodriguez. She leaves behind countless friends and individuals whose lives were touched by her warmth and compassion.
Concepcion's legacy is one of love, generosity, and unwavering kindness. Her presence illuminated the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation for Concepcion will be held Monday, March 4, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Caballero Rivero Westchester, 8200 Bird Rd, Miami, Fl 33155. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Augustine, 1400 Miller Road, Miami, FL 33146.
Concepcion will be laid to rest in Caballero Rivero Woodlawn North , 3260 SW 8 Street , Miami, FL 33135.
