Evaristo Rivera

Evaristo Rivera, age 53, of Miami, Florida passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022. Evaristo was born March 19, 1968 on the island of Puerto Rico, moving to Hartford, Connecticut as a child then to Miami, Florida as a young adult.

Evaristo would come to meet his spouse Ivette Rivera in 2002 through a mutual friend. A romance quickly blossomed and a unique bond was formed. His love was not only graced to his daughter, and Ivette, but as well as to Ivette's three kids taking them in, and opening both heart, and home to them all.

Evaristo Rivera better known as "JR", was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend. Those who knew JR knew him to always have either a smile or a helping hand at the ready for you. Evaristo was a fan of many events, such as the annual Corporate Run, Calle Ocho, or the occasional Auto show. His jubilant nature lent itself to his welcoming persona, all but promising a small-scale adventure if you were within arms reach, be it singing and dancing along to a Latin classic or him calling on you to be his Domino's partner.

Evaristo is survived by his wife, Ivette Rivera, his children Shelby Ann Rivera, Jennifer Lee Martinez, Manuel Martinez, Daniel Martinez, and his 4 grandchildren.

A memorial service for Evaristo will be held Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Caballero Rivero Little Havana, 3344 SW 8TH ST, MIAMI, FL 33135.
