Felix Sanchez

Félix Sánchez, 87, passed away on August 29th, 2012 in Miami, FL. A memorial service will be held at Memorial Plan (9800 Coral Way) on Thursday, August 30th, 2012 and burial service on Friday, August 31st at Dade South Memorial Park. He passed peacefully at his house surrounded by his loving family.

Félix a native of Guanajay, provincia de Pinar del Rio, Cuba, was a well known television and radio narrator. He spent his early years working at the well known radio station WCMQ in Havana, Cuba. He was the exclusive narrator for Crusellas y Compañía and the famous voice of Colgate-Palmolive. In 1972, he left his native Cuba and re-established himself in Madrid, Spain, as narrator and Director of Programs of Radio Nacional de España and announcer and Director for Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia de la Complutense de Madrid (UNED). He was also the official narrator for Latin America for the Noticiero NODO and he lent his voice for dubbing to some of the most important television and cinematic actors of the 70's. In 1979, he once again relocated to Miami, FL. In Miami he re-establishes himself, this time as Director of Radio Suave 1260 AM, news-reader at WCMQ AM/FM. For the last 15 years before his retirement he works as a journalist and announcer for Radio and Television Marti. He was a dedicated professional and student of the linguistics and phonetics of the Spanish language. Besides his profession he also distinguished himself as a painter, teacher, and mentor to many of the most recognized voices in Hispanic media today, but most importantly, he was a role model for his son. He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Waldetrudis "Lily" Sánchez, his beloved son Felix Guillermo Sánchez, his daughter-in-law Noeli Sánchez, his grandsons Michael & Marc Sánchez and his nieces, their husbands and grand-nieces and nephew. El periodista y locutor Félix Sánchez falleció en Miami el 29 de agosto a los 87 años de edad. Los servicios funerales tendráan lugar en el Memorial Plan (9800 Coral Way) el jueves 30 de agosto y el funeral será el viernes 31 en el cemeterio Dade South Memorial Park. Sánchez falleció tranquilamente en su casa, rodeado por sus seres queridos.

Nativo de Guanajay, provincia de Pinar del Rio, Cuba fue un destacado locutor de radio y televisión. Se inicio en la popular estación radial WCMQ en La Habana. Fue el presentador exclusivo para Crusellas y Compañía, y la famosa voz de Colgate-Palmolive. En 1972 abandonó Cuba y se radicó en Madrid, España, donde fungió como locutor y director de programas de Radio Nacional de España y portavoz y director de la Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia de la complutense de Madrid (UNED). Fue también el locutor oficial para Américan Latina del Noticiero NODO y dobló las voces de algunos de los actores más relevantes de la televisión y el cine de la década de los años 70. En 1979 se trasladó a Miami, donde retomó su carrera como Director de Radio Suave 1260 AM y locutor de noticias en WCMQ AM-FM. Durante los último quince años antes de su retiro se desempeñó como periodista y locutor de Radio y Televisión Martí. Fue un profesional dedicado y estudioso de la linguística y la fonética del idioma español. También se distinguió como pintor, profesor, y mentor de algunas de las voces hispanas más reconocidas en los medios hispanos, pero más importante aún fue un padre ejemplar. Le sobreviven su esposa de 59 años, Waldetrudis "Lily" Sáanchez, su hijo Félix Guillermo Sánchez, su nuera Noeli Sáanchez, sus nietos Michael y Marc Sánchez, y sus sobrinas, los esposos de éstas, sus sobrinos-nietos. Dios te bendiga, "Tito". Siempre te amaremos y recordaremos.
