Fernando Diaz, was born on November 24, 1939, in the town of Florida, Camagüey, Cuba, where he grew up surrounded by a large and close-knit family. From an early age, he learned the values of hard work, loyalty, and sacrifice—qualities that would define his life.
In the 1980s, Fernando immigrated to the United States in search of freedom and opportunity. Like many of his generation, he faced the challenges of starting over in a new country with courage and determination. Never forgetting those he left behind, he played an important role in helping his family, in one way or another, make their own journey from Cuba to this land of freedom.
A devoted family man, Fernando was always there for his brothers and sisters, offering help whenever and however he could. His generosity, sense of responsibility, and quiet strength made him a pillar of support for his loved ones. Family was at the center of his life, and his actions consistently reflected his deep love and commitment to them.
Fernando was loved by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his kindness, humility, and willingness to lend a hand. His legacy lives on through the family he supported, the lives he touched, and the example he set.
He is survived by his son Fernando Diaz and wife Christie Diaz, his daughter Mireya Linsky and husband Benjamin Linsky, seven grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a big family of siblings and cousins.
