Frank F. Palacios Jr., age 92, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025. Born on July 8, 1932, in Ecuador, Frank moved to the United States at a young age and pursued his passion for engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey, where he earned his bachelor's degree. A man of remarkable drive and dedication, Frank became known for his expertise and hard work, rising to prominence as one of the project managers for the construction of the World Trade Center’s iconic Twin Towers in New York City.
Frank’s life took an unforgettable turn on September 11, 2001. On that fateful day, Frank had an event to attend and did not go to work at the World Trade Center. His absence that day was nothing short of a miracle, as the Twin Towers collapsed in a tragic act of terrorism. Frank often reflected on how lucky he was to have been spared from the devastation that claimed the lives of so many colleagues and friends.
In his personal life, Frank was married to Lourdes Palacios, the love of his life, who passed away on July 1, 2003. They met in their early twenties while still in high school and shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Together, they raised three children, one of whom sadly passed away. Frank’s heart remained full of love for his late child, and he found comfort in knowing they would one day be reunited in heaven.
Frank will be remembered not only for his remarkable achievements in engineering but also for his dedication to his family. His strong work ethic, kindness, and unwavering love for those around him left a lasting impact on all who knew him. As Frank is laid to rest, his family finds solace in knowing he is now reunited with his beloved Lourdes and their son, in the peace and serenity of heaven.
