Fredesvinda "Fita" Garcia, age 90, passed away on Wednesday January 2, 2019, she left a mark on everyone she knew. Wether it be a scarf she knitted them, a craft she made them or best of all her selflessness for everyone. I have endless memories of her Cuban cooking (best frijoles), her dancing in the kitchen, her sayings and old Cuban dicharachos/poems, her pinching everyone’s butt, her saying a few of her favorite bad words (we all know what they were..especially to Tavi), her hoarding food in her purse for a time when anyone might be hungry, of course her favorite scratch offs/ lottery tickets and most of all her praying for every special intention any of us or our friends ever had. She’s been in our family’s lives for five generations. As Ani, my sister, said to me yesterday “Don’t know a world without her in it”. I really can’t imagine it. It seems hard to understand. I ask that you pray for her, although I know she had a “fast-pass” directly to heaven to meet with all who went before her and she’s probably eating Cheetos and sweets and sprite and all her favorite things with no one to tell her otherwise.
It is immeasurable how much she will be missed!
