

George G.J. Richter was born September 2, 1924 in Seymour, CT to parents, John and Adele Richter.After growing up and graduating from Richmound High School he joined the US Army Air Corps and served in WWII European Theater.Being able to speak German fluently, he met his wife Charlotte while working for the US War Department. They were married in 1947 and returned to Richmond, ME. George enrolled at Bowdoin College an graduated with a B.A. degree. George and Charlotte eventualy moved and he worked on Wall Street for a brokerage firm. Sons Rainer, Marc and Randy were born respectively in 1950,1951 and 1957.
In 1959 George and Charlotte Moved the family to Miami, FL. George worked briefly for a brokerage firm. Daughter Kathy was born in 1963 completing the family. In 1964 George began teaching German at Miami Coral Park Senior High School. When the foreign language program ended he taught American history.He retired from teaching in 1987 and enjoyed retirement.
George enjoyed many pastimes including, listening to his much loved classical and jazz music and riding his motorcycle. He and Charlotte were members of the German-American Social Club and members of the Olympia Heights Methodist Church. George had a sharp mind and cleaver wit right up to the end.
He was diagnosed with a meningioma in 2009 to which he eventualy seccumbed. He had a rich and satisfying life. His faith grew stronger as he aged. He loved his beautiful wife of 65 years and his family.
He is predeceased by his parents, brother Frederick Adam and survived by his wife Charlotte Sons: Rainer (Sheila), Marc (Sharon),, Randolph Jon (Elizabeth) and daughter Katherine (Henry), 9 grandchidren and 8 great-grandchildren, and one much beloved cat-Twitty.
Memorial service will be at Olympia Heights United Methodist Church 3801 SW 97 Avenue Miami FL 33165 on August 25,2012 at 11:00 AM. The Richter family appreciates the condolences expressed.
