Hector Rizo, beloved patriarch of his family passed away on June 26, 2023. Hector was born in Santiago de la Vega, Cuba. He wore many hats in his professional life including baker, salesman, builder, accountant, radio broadcaster, entrepreneur and machinist. He tackled any project that presented itself, all in which he excelled at due to his work ethic and determination.
His proudest accomplishments revolved around his family and his role as a husband, father and grandfather. He was the life of any family gathering - dancing salsa with his only partner in dance and life, Norma or if we were lucky reciting a poem whether of love or love of country, it did not matter as his passion and voice moved anyone who was listening. He was famous for his empanadillas which attracted friends and family (especially his grandchildren) to come gather, laugh and enjoy his presence as he rolled the dough and tailored the pastry to accommodate everyone’s individual taste. He was kind, loyal and generous beyond measure. Always freely giving a smile to all that he met in his path.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Norma and his son Hector Jr. He is survived by his sisters Enma Lilia Rizo and Gilma Rizo Miranda, his daughter Isela (Lisa) Crittenden and grandchildren, Alyssa, Richard, Phillip and William Crittenden. All of whom he showered with unconditional love and support throughout their lives. He will truly be missed and will live in our hearts forever.
