Two years already, feels like an eternity. I love you forever abuela. 🤍

Te quiero mucho abuela. Un año sin ti es una eternidad,  siempre fuiste mi ángel. Darle fuerza a mi abuelo, los quiero tanto, no hay palabras. 

I miss you, more and more everyday. Never knew how much of my person you were. Everyday I hope I can walk outside and see you sitting. I haven’t been able to go in your house again, feels like a nightmare without you.  I miss your pretty saints in your room. It just sucks without you. I love you so much. I know your with me, I know you get me. I love you abuela. 

Every morning I miss you. Every afternoon I miss you. Every night I miss you. All your places and spaces aren’t the same, but your image sitting outside or on your chair will forever be engraved in my head, and will forever be my favorite memory. The garden is beautiful, Abuelo has worked hard at it, it’s filled with butterflies. When I see them I feel it’s you telling me you’re ok. I love you abuela, thank you for always believing in my and being my person. ❤️ I will miss you till it’s my turn. 

How I wish I walked out and saw you sitting in the chair outside looking at nature. I regret every  moment I didn’t spend with you. I miss so much Abuela, it still knocks the breath out of me. I hope I brought you comfort. I know you’ve been with me since. I love you, until I see you again, a piece of my heart resides in heaven. 

Mi abuelita querida del alma,
Como te vamos a extrañar mi abuelita preciosa. Me faltan las palabras para poder expresar lo tanto que significas para mi. Siempre fuiste mi mejor ejemplo, mi consejera, mi apoyo más grande. Siempre me harás falta, pero entiendo que esta es la ley de la vida. 
Le doy gracias a Dios por el regalo de tu vida y por nuestra conexión tan especial.

 I will always remember Ismelda as a very beautiful soul,  a very fair person, a very sweet & loving woman. Her presence brought peace, she always welcomed you with a beautiful smile! May she Rest In Peace & may God bring his comfort & strength to all of her family as I know this is a great blow & a very deep lost. My condolences to all! 🙏🏻😇❤️

My grandmother was an angelic being on earth. She was cute and had her open minded hippie ways of getting me and I adored her for that. When I was little I would run from my upper bunk bed to her room because I was afraid. I remember my grandfather said he would hear my little footsteps every-night toward my grandmother’s  room as her belly was my pillow and her radio on the Cuban station on all night brought me peace. As an adult she always made me feel the same way, safe. She always saved me when life got heavy with all her support and non judging lovable ways. She loved my daughter immensely. My life is what it is today because of her. She took care of my daughter Katelyn as a baby with my grandfather and I remember it brought them so much joy. My baby girl would also fall into a deep sleep on her belly same way I did as a child. She was such a happy baby with them. My grandparents had her shows,  her favorite toys, snacks, and  schedule down packed as well as her little attitude, they’re  such perfect humans to me. I guess Katelyn  felt my grandmothers  angelic innocence and  love too as my daughter remained a part of her everyday life until the very end. She was the person I spoke to about everything and she got through to me. Her death will never go in vain, I just want to be the best me in every way, shape and form to make sure I make her proud, I want to be the way she was. Abuela nothing will ever be the same without you. You were the rock of this family. Your struggles having to leave your family behind in Cuba for all of us will always make me push harder and be stronger. I will always carry you with me. Thank you for checking in with me everyday. You have no idea how you shaped me, therefore you are a part of me for all eternity. I can’t say life will be the same as special dates will pain my soul, but as I look at the sky I will smile for you. I will miss your food and chícharo forever, it made me so happy. Te quiero mucho abuela, ya te extraño.
