Jean Joyce Gray Carroll, 84, born February 9, 1940 in Hyattstown, Maryland, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren on August 7, 2024. She was the fifth child of twelve born to James and Gladys Gray. Being from a very large family, times were not always easy, but there was always a lot of love. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Raymond and Betty, her son David, her grandson Micheal, and her husband of nearly 50 years, Phillip O. Carroll. She is survived by their six children Albert (Melanie), Vialetta, Michelle (Donald), Sharon, Aretha and Danille (Rosalyn), and her 7 sisters and 2 brothers. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren Lakecia, Anderia, Chanel and Jovaughn, 5 great grandchildren, plus 8 great-great grandchildren. Jean was an incredible Air Force wife who effortlessly balanced being a devoted wife and mother while traveling the world with her six young children. Jean had a passion for fitness, bowling, cooking and being the best grandmother she could be. Jean was a loyal friend and anyone who had the privilege of knowing her became a better person for it. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Out of respect for Jean's wishes, there will not be a public service. In lieu of any gifts or flowers, please make a donation in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
