Born July 13, 1954, Jennifer grew up near Wilmington in southern Ohio. Being brought up on the family farm, she learned early the value of hard work. She attended elementary school in Port William and Wilmington and graduated from Blanchester High School, all in Ohio. She pursued collegiate degrees at Ohio State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in English and a Masters Degree in special services.
After working in Columbus, Ohio at Franklin University as academic advisor and coordinator of disabled student services, Jennifer interviewed with Florida International University, and subsequently accepted a position there as Coordinator of Disability Services. During her time at Franklin University, she met Jamsheed Ebrahimian, whom she would marry in 1985. They are the proud parents of two sons, Ryan Jahan and Kyle Bijan.
She continued her education at FIU, achieving a Doctorate in Higher Education Teaching in 1993. She dedicated her dissertation to her sons to set an example for them to strive to reach their highest aspirations in life. Afterwards, she continued to work at FIU in the disability services department, eventually becoming the disabilities services Director.
Jennifer later became an academic advisor for student athletes at the University of Miami. After leaving UM, she made her two sons her primary focus. She would also help to raise her children’s friends, schoolmates and neighborhood kids, actively participating in school activities, Boy Scouts, and fund raising projects. She was proud that both sons received college degrees from FIU.
She loved to spend time with her sons, husband, and friends; tend to her collection of orchids; and sun at the seaside and pool. She also loved growing tomatoes and gardening.
Jennifer passed on May 1 following a sudden illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Flossie King, and father, Russell King, and survived by her sons, Ryan and Kyle, their father Jamsheed, her sister, Theresa Harvey, and many beloved relatives in Ohio.
