

Jose Eduardo de Vivero, 86, passed away peacefully in Miami, Florida on July 16, 2013. He was born on November 8, 1926 in Lima, Peru. He was a devoted son to his parents, Enrique and Teresa. He was predeceased by his brothers Enrique, Hernan, and Javier, as well as his sister Margarita. He is survived by his sisters Teresa Negron de Vivero and Carmen Pipoli de Vivero, both of Lima, Peru. Eduardo came to the United States in 1948 to attend the University of Oklahoma. He graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1955. He moved his family to Florida in the early sixties, eventually settling in Fort Lauderdale and Miami and enjoyed a successful career in engineering. He was instrumental in the design of the testing facility for the NASA Space Shuttle in Huntsville, Alabama; the I-95 inner loop and tunnel in Washington DC; the four level interchange between I-95 and State Road 836 in Miami, Florida; 23 miles of the northbound lane of bridge over Lake Pontchartrain; the Port of Miami; and the Fisher Island Ferry Landing in Miami-Dade County. Eduardo was a devout Catholic. He enjoyed music, dancing, reading, and traveling. He enjoyed studying his family’s genealogy and was very proud of his Spanish heritage. He lived his life with an adventurous and inquisitive spirit. Eduardo is survived by the love of his life, Esther, and his seven children: Teresa Franck (Charlie), Carmen Bowman (Steve), Kathryn Farrell (Bill), Cristina Havelka (Mark), Eduardo de Vivero (Marta), Javier de Vivero (Denise), and Francisco Gambin (Ivette), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful and loving husband and proud of all his children. He embraced his stepson as a true father would. He treasured and valued his family no matter what. His memory will live on through his thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He will live in our hearts forever.
