Karl T. Leon

LEON, DR. KARL T. 03/1/1936 - 07/17/2011. It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing of Dr. Karl Theodore Leon. On Sunday, July 17, 2011 at 11:13 am Karl, with his family by his side, passed on after a short but hard fought battle in Mercy Hospital. A 44 year resident of Key Biscayne, Dr. Leon is survived by the "Love of His Life"- Gladys Leon, and 5 children, Mark, Margie, Lisa, Allison and Mary. Dr. Leon was born and raised in Philadelphia and later graduated from Temple U Pharmacy and Dental Schools. He joined the US army and Dental Corps and after a tour of duty became a Key Biscayne resident.

Dr. Leon practiced dentistry for 40 years in Miami and is a member of the Dade County Dental Research Clinic, the American Dental Association and the Florida Dental Association.

He joined the Key Biscayne Lions Club in 1996 and became the treasurer. He also joined the Key Biscayne Beach Club, the Yacht Club, and the American Legion Post 374.

He married Gladys in 1999. They are forever grateful for the friendships and lifestyles that Key Biscayne has offered them. Karl will be missed by all. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Services will be held Friday July 22nd 4-10pm at Funeraria Memorial Plan, 1717 SW 37th Ave, Coral Gables.
