Kathryn (Verri) Bowen, 89, passed away in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida on November 19, 2022. Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Kathryn attended Miami Senior High School, and West Liberty University earning a degree in dental hygiene. She met James H. Bowen on a blind date, and they married just six months later. During their 62 years of marriage, they raised two daughters, moved more than 20 times, and traveled all over the world with their best friends, Ed and Peggy Mohler. Kathryn was an expert gardener specializing in orchids and roses. She also enjoyed reading, was an active member of the Red Hat Society, loved playing bridge with her friends, and most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Kathryn is survived by her daughter Karen Bowen (Thomas Brown), and grandchildren Kristin Samartino, Wesley Hevia (Elizabeth Fulton), Kathryn Hevia (Ben Mathan), Thomas Brown III, and Lauren Brown. Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband James H. Bowen, daughter Brenda Bowen-Hevia, and parents Rocco and Jessie Verri.
A visitation for Kathryn will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South, 11655 SW 117 Ave, Miami, Florida 33186. Following the visitation will be a burial at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Park South, 11655 SW 117 Ave, Miami, Florida 33186.
