

Dr. Lucien Albert, 81, passed away on the evening of January 15, 2020. He was a devoted husband and father. Dr. Lucien Albert was a respected physician and served his community in North Miami. Lucien Albert was born in 1938 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, the son of Maxime Albert and Venia Jean.
Both of his parents died when he was very young and he was raised by his Aunt, Antoine Paul (Ti Twan). He attended Lycée Toussaint Louverture, L’École Normale Supérieure and later the Faculté de Médecine de l'Université d'Etat d'Haiti in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He did his Service Social at Baradères, Haiti and worked in Jean Rabel, Haiti. In 1968, he moved to Montreal, Quebec, Canada to do a residency at St. Joseph de Rosemont Hospital.
While in Canada he married Daniella Charles whom he had met in Haiti. In 1969, Dr. Lucien Albert landed a job at Interfaith Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Lucien and Daniella went on to have four children and the family settled in Cambria Heights, Queens.
In 1980, the family moved from New York to Miami, Florida, where Dr. Lucien Albert practiced medicine until his retirement. His medical clinic was in Little Haiti at 5811 North Miami Ave for almost twenty years.
Lucien Albert is survived by his children Clifford Albert, JoAnn Albert, Stanley Albert, Dominic Albert and Daniel Albert, by his nephews and nieces, Ernst Albert, Reynald Albert, Sabine Albert, Marie Smith Albert, Shilda Albert and Louise Albert as well as family members Marie Claude Albert, Claude and Alourdes Charles, Marie Therese Theodore, Martha Israel, Raymond Mathelier and Luciane D’Août.
