It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marta Torres, age 65, who left us peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2025. Marta was born on August 9, 1959, in Brooklyn, New York, and was a proud Puerto Rican woman whose warmth and energy touched the lives of all who knew her.
Marta’s journey through life was marked by love, passion, and a deep connection to her roots. She met her beloved husband, with whom she shared 40 wonderful years of marriage, in her hometown of Brooklyn. Together, they built a life full of love and laughter.
Marta had a special place in her heart for the beach. Her love for the ocean was unwavering, and she spent many years working at hotels by the sea, where she was known for her dedication and warm spirit. The beach wasn’t just a place of work for Marta; it was a sanctuary where she could feel the sun on her face and the sand beneath her feet.
One of Marta's greatest joys was dancing. She was an incredible dancer, her movements graceful and full of life. Whether it was a traditional salsa or a spontaneous dance in the living room, Marta’s love for dance was infectious. She had a natural rhythm that brought joy to those around her, and her presence on the dance floor was always a sight to behold.
Marta is survived by her devoted husband, children, and extended family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her—whether through her infectious laughter, her love of life, or the rhythm of her dance.
She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. In her memory, we will continue to dance, laugh, and cherish the moments of joy that she so generously shared with us all.
Rest in peace, Marta. You will forever be in our hearts. ♥
