This is Jen, your last roommate. I miss you Martika. I knew no one when I came to Flordia and you took me in and treated me like family.  I'll never forget the day Steven brought me over to your house. We became friends instantly! You hugged me and call me "your sister".  All our late night talks, runs to store for snacks, sitting by pool and around kitchen island talking way pasted midnight. I miss our morning talk over coffee by pool now. Love you<3

I met Martika at the soup kitchen, where she worked so hard to help those in need. We immediately became friends. She was an amazing listener. If she was going through something she would never speak first, she would always ask about me first. She literally would have given me the clothes off of her back. She was a loving kind, and giving human that had way too many trials in her short life. My life was better having known her. I will miss my sister forever. ❤️

Martika was my husband's caregiver at a most critical time in his life. How I was first introduced to her, was in itself the most major event in our lives.  Having said that, it was Martika who nurtured, cared for and organized every detail of our journey. She was hired in late April 2021.  Martika, stayed with my husband seven days a week from 8am until 8pm while he was in the hospital, and then came back with him (as his caregiver) in our home. It did not take long to recognize that Martika's ability to care for my husband was unlike anyone's was, or ever will be. She was able to do everything for him. Everyone that came through our door was amazed at her profound ability to go above and beyond the call of duty. Martika learned to do things for him that only a trained nurse could do. Along with her amazing ability to do it all for him, she managed to be a source of strength to both my adult son and myself. Simply stated, we relied on her and it was she who turned our months of the most devastating experience to one of peace and hope. Martika and I bonded in a way that I had never experienced before, and she was truly our earth angel. My husband would ask me if she came from another planet.  After all, how could one human  be so responsible and wonderful? We were the last earthly position she held. I am certain she will be doing her heavenly best by forever protecting those of us who have been fortunate enough to have known her. I will forever be grateful for having the opportunity to meet and love her at a time when I felt lost.  Thank you Marika.  You will always be remembered and honored.
