On Monday, October 15th, 2018, Mary Louise Brown Adams, mother of five, grandmother of fourteen and great-grandmother of ten, passed away at the age of 90 in her home in Miami, Florida. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Eric Leslie Adams.
Polly, as she was fondly called, was born in Havana, Cuba on March 6th, 1928. She was the daughter of William Brown of Dublin, Ireland, and Amparo Rasco Brown of Sagua la Grande, Cuba. She was the sixth of eight siblings (Gladys, Fergie, Kitty, Baby, Bobby, Polly, Paddy and Maggie) and was very close to her beloved family all of her life.
Polly was a gifted piano player and alto-soprano, and with her sister Paddy, would dazzle their friends with their musical talent.
She met the love of her life, Buddy Adams when they were both teen-agers. They were married when Polly was 21 and Buddy 22. They had five children (Bonnie, Eric, Debbie, Bobby and Steve). After leaving Cuba in 1960, they lived in the Bahamas, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Mexico and the US.
Polly was very loving and compassionate, dedicated to her husband and children, instilling in them a deep and lasting faith, a commitment to integrity and the drive to excel in their lives. She was a beloved wife and mother who kept the flame of love glowing throughout her life. She kept her family tightly united throughout difficult and joyous times.
Her fourteen grandchildren were very close to her and loved her deeply. She had a very significant influence in each of their lives, as a confidant, mentor, guide and teacher. Guillo, Andy, Eric, Stephanie, Laurie, Eric IV, Debo, Chad, Robert, Erica, Danny, Vero, Michi and Mari will always carry a part of Ma in their hearts.
She was blessed with 10 lovely great grandchildren with whom she enjoyed many happy celebrations and moments.
