

Born on January 1,1924 in Maricao, Puerto Rico. Mildred Velasco was the daughter of Monserrate Padua and Francisco Gonzalez. Throughout her life, she was known for her compassion and dedication to her family, friends and the Lord.
Mildred Velasco went on to work as a teacher’s aide in the Public School system in the Bronx. When she moved back to Puerto Rico with her family, she worked as a Purchasing Agent at the Public Works Department until she retired.
In her love for the church, she was a member of the Legion of Mary, a Eucharistic Minister, and an advocate for the poor and sick.
She is survived by her two children, Sonia Ramallo & spouse Juan Carlos, and Frank Velasco & spouse, Shirley; three grandchildren, Frank Velasco Jr., Karla Vines and Anne Marie Velasco; five great grandchildren, Alexandra Moreno, Bryan Velasco , Yan Merced, Katherine Castells & Benny Vines and two great- great grandchildren, Sophia Moreno & Mason Moreno.
Mildred Velasco was preceded in death by her loving husband, Francisco M. Velasco.
May Mildred Velasco’s memory live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Although Millie’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. As you continue to worship Jesus up there, dear Mildred, your light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
