

She was born on September 17, 1935 to Nezam and Nikoo Mansoori in Iran. She graduated from the Shiraz University Medical Sciences in 1959. She was only one of four woman medical students.
After graduating with a degree in Medicine, she completed her residency training at the Cook County Health and Hospitals System in Chicago. She specialized in Obstetrics & Gynecology. She was a very proud physician for 65 years.
She was a trailblazer her entire life. She came to America alone, without speaking much english. She wanted to be a surgeon but was told no one would see a woman surgeon. She ended up doing surgeries anyway. She delivered thousands of babies and loved doing that so much. Her license, which she fought so hard to receive, was active till the day she passed. She loved medicine with a passion and was a skilled physician.
Nahid met her husband Guido Diaz, a Cuban born psychiatrist, in Cook County Hospital and went on to have 2 children, David and Susan, after moving to Miami. She was married to Guido till his passing in 2015. They both loved medicine, family and traveling.
In 2008, she retired and spent her time ballroom dancing and being a doting grandmother.
She is survived by her two children David and Susan, their spouses Apple and Hubert, grandsons Steven and David.
She raised 2 kids and had 2 grandkids she loved very much. She was passionate of ballroom dancing and the group of wonderful friends she surrounded herself after her husband’s passing.
Visitation is on Aug. 19, 2024 (Mon) 9:00 AM -1:30 PM; Burial to follow at 2:00 PM at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South Park located in 11655 S.W. 117th Ave, Miami, FL 33186
