My grandfather  was always a funny and energetic person and was great at fixing things before he had Alzheimer's.  When I found out he was gone, I was surprised and it saddened me to think I would never hear his voice again. I will always miss him and remember who he was.

I was surprised when I had heard that my Grandfather had died. For a large part of my life he has been fighting with Alzheimer's, and even though I knew it was coming, I, caught up in my life, never thought he would pass the day he did. But he's gone. I remember he was always a strong hardworking man. He helped take my Mom, Aunt, and Grandmother out of Communist Cuba to Spain, and later to America to start a new life. And he created a great house out of nearly nothing. He was a great mechanic dedicated to his work for many years. Working nearly to the end. I also remember that every time we would visit him and Abuela on Sunday, he tried to cheer me and my brother up. He was a loving and dedicated man. So most importantly, I hope that he finally made the best decision of his life and accepted Jesus in the end. I pray that me and my family may see him again one day, and trust in God until then.

My heart bleeds in disbelief that my father is actually gone.  I will never be able to find the right words to honor him but I will surely try.  He was intelligent and lived through a lot.  Deeply devoted to his family.  Always there for everyone.  My father was an intelligent, hardworking man.  He loved my mother for over 57 years.  He loved my sister and I and was extremely proud of us.  He received Andy into our family with open arms and waited patiently to have grandchildren.  He was blessed to watch David and Adan grow into wonderful boys and young men.  His life was complete.  Alzheimer's grieved him towards the end but he fought valiantly.  Today I do not grief as those who have no hope.  For I believe that Jesus died and rose again, and will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in him.  I grieve with the hope that comes from knowing Christ as my Lord and Savior.
