Reynaldo Madiedo, 88, a beloved father, grandfather, friend, and mentor to many, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends until the very end. Born on November 20, 1937, in Guanabacoa, Habana, Cuba, Reynaldo's life was a testament to his love, loyalty, and dedication to his faith and his family.
Reynaldo was a man of many talents and passions. After fleeing Cuba in 1961, he made Miami his home. Through his vision, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit, he founded a family-run business, Superior Electrical Contractors, to which he dedicated close to 50 years of his life. SECI played a vital role in supporting the education of future generations by contributing to the construction of learning environments throughout Miami.
Reynaldo’s passions spanned far beyond the professional. He was an avid traveler who shared his excursions with the people he loved, often planning trips with the explicit intention of bringing his family together. His enthusiasm for the arts was apparent through the copious works he collected, as well as the works he created himself. He felt most at home at the beach, where he took particular pleasure in taking long naps under the sun.
He is survived by his devoted wife of over 65 years, Bibiana, and their three children: Bibiana and her husband Guillermo Pesant, Marianne and her husband Kenneth A. Blanco, and Reynaldo II and his wife Dulce Madiedo. He will be deeply missed by his eight grandchildren and their respective spouses, all of whom affectionately called him “Nono,” his sister Migdalia Gutierrez, his three stepsisters Esther, Maria, and Prisca, his sister-in-law Maria Fenton, as well as his many nieces and nephews. Reynaldo’s memory will live on through his family, whose lives have been blessed by the example he set of living with resilience, generosity, and kindness toward others.
A wake will be held on Monday, March 16, from 6:00 to 11:00 PM at Caballero Rivero Westchester. A funeral Mass will follow on Tuesday, March 17, at 11:00 AM at St. Raymond Catholic Church.
