Robert Mirzoyan, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on November 15, 1934, in Nagorno-Karabakh, Robert's life was marked by love, resilience and endless curiosity for the world around him.
He spent the majority of his life in Armenia after completing his doctorate in chemistry from the Moscow State University. He became a pioneering research chemist and one of Armenia’s foremost experts in mass spectrometry. Robert’s love of science was matched by his passion for nature. Weekends often found him in the mountains of Armenia, either hiking alone or with friends and colleagues, always challenging them to keep pace with his energy and enthusiasm for exploration. After immigrating to the United States in 2003, Robert made his home in Washington DC and then Miami, where he found new joy in daily walks along Sunny Isles Beach.
Above all, Robert’s greatest passion was his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 57 years, Roza, and a proud father to his son Armen and daughter Alla. His legacy lives on through his four cherished grandchildren: Robert (18), Alexander (16), Sofia (9), and Anais (7), who will forever remember their grandfather’s love, humor, and gentle presence.
Throughout his life, Robert was admired for his kindness, integrity, intuition and the original way of seeing the world. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and he will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to share in his long and remarkable life.
