

Roberta Ann McLaughlin (“Birdie Breuer”) passed away on January 30, 2020. Free from her earthly burdens she has rejoined her devoted husband Eugene “Mike” Breuer who passed away in 2013. Birdie was Proceeded by her sister Gloria and is survived by sisters Pat and Ora, brother Bob and numerous nieces and nephews. Birdie was born in Kittaning Pennsylvania December 20 1953.
Birdie followed her older sister Gloria to South Dade in the early 1970s residing in the Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay areas since that time. She recently retired after a 35-year career as a legal secretary. Birdie and Mike shared a joyous life that was engaged with South Florida on many levels. They enjoyed fishing, tropical fruit trees, auto racing (attending the 12 hours of Sebring 33 consecutive years) and traveling through America and the Bahamas. They were very engaged with cultural activities such as the South Florida Shakespeare Festival, concerts and art exhibits. Most New Year’s eves found them downtown Miami at the Orange Bowl parade.
Birdie was a fun-loving, outgoing person whose sunny personality, kindness and generosity endeared herself to many. Her friends knew her as a beautiful lady whose beauty was not skin deep but radiated outward from the heart. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by many.
Memorial services will be held February 16th from 11 to 12:30 pm at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South 11655 SW 117 Ave (305 238-3672).
