Querida Tía Yolanda.    Siempre me recuerdo de ti, con gran cariño y afecto!   Encantadora y elegante!  Descansa en Paz!

Will always remember Yolanda dressed to the Nines with a sweet smile on her face. I remember she practiced ballet well into her later years, always with beautiful posture. Since Yolanda  lived in the same building as my parents, I got to see her frequently. She was always checking in on them to make sure they were OK and to keep them company. That was very kind and I really appreciated it. 
She is fondly remembered by the people who work at Villa Capri. They ask about her every time they see me.
Madeline, so sorry she is gone. I know she will be missed. RIP Yolanda. ❤️

The photo shows our dear cousin Yolanda with her first cousins (primas-hermanas), Norma Hermida on the left and Gladys Navarro on the right. Gladys is my mother. All three were the "only child" in their families and therefore, very close throughout their lives in and outside of Cuba.
I remember as a child Yolanda, her husband Jorge, and her daughter Madeline were the only family we had in San Juan, where our families went to live in exile.  "Yola", as we called her, was our "tia", always helping our parents with information, tips, many a favor, helping with birthday parties, christenings (she was my stand-in godmother), always there for us. Later, once she and her family settled in South Florida, Yola always remembered our birthdays. My siblings and I always got a birthday card from Yola, even through our teen years. We all adored her.  She really was like a “tia” giving us advise, comfort, unconditional love and affection. Yolanda and her family are found  among my fondest childhood memories. Besos Yola. See you some day soon.
