OGDEN, Elizabeth Ann “Betty”, age 84 of Miamisburg and formerly of Kettering, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born April 13, 1929 in Dayton to the late William and Mary (Houser) Murphy. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Murphy, James Bolen and John Bolen and her sister, Harriet Kenney. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Arthur Ogden; her children, Michael Ogden and Lisa (Chris) Nace, both of Miamisburg; a grandson, Chad Nace, who attends University of Cincinnati, as well as nieces and nephews. Betty was a 1947 graduate of Fairmont High School, Kettering and attended Miami Jacobs Secretarial School. She served as an office administrator for many local employers but had spent several years of her career with E. F. McDonald. In addition to her employment, Betty was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She was the sweetest most unselfish person with a great sense of humor who loved to tell jokes. Betty was a devoted and active grandmother and throughout her many health battles she persevered with grace and humility. She enjoyed music, dancing, playing the piano and organ, garages sales and flea market shopping. Betty also bred and showed Boxers, had a great admiration for automobiles (attending several car shows over the years), rode a motorcycle years ago and crafted pillows for sale as a hobby. Her smile and sweetness will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, January 17, 2014 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:30 AM Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Our Lady of Good Hope, Miamisburg and celebrated by Father Tom Nevels.
