Helen Eileen Selby

SELBY, Helen Eileen, age 86 of Miamisburg passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Kingston of Miamisburg under the care of Heartland Hospice. She was born on April 1, 1928 in Miamisburg to the late, Henry and Helen (Griffin) Schroder. Also preceding her in death is her husband of 59 years, John H. Selby in 2007 and 4 siblings. Helen is survived by sons, John C. Selby and Jerry L. (Tammy Perry) Selby, both of Miamisburg; sister, Virginia Andrix of Miamisburg; granddaughter, Sheri (Jeff) Thatcher; great-grandchildren, Hailey and J.B. and lifelong friends, Phyllis Abney and Eileen Jones as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Helen is a 1946 graduate of Miamisburg High School and employed with NCR and the W.T. Grant Company. However for the majority of her life she was a dedicated, wife mother and homemaker. She has been a life-long member of Our Lady of Good Hope Church, Miamisburg and a member of the Dayton Auto Racing Club as she was an avid NASCAR fan. Helen also indulged in activities to keep active which included flower gardening and crafting. Family will receive friends and loved ones during visitation scheduled for Friday from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM also at the funeral home and officiated by Father Tom Nevels. Burial will take place at Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Miami Valley Fire District at 2710 Lyons Rd., Miamisburg, OH 45342 in memory of Helen and in support of the Miamisburg Fire and EMT departments.
