

Kemper, John “Jack“ Aloys, age 90, former Bellbrook resident, Passed away June 1, 2016. He was born September 11, 1925 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late John Aloys and Marie (Ibold) Kemper. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 65 years, Jean Margaret (Mitchell) Kemper. He is survived by daughters, Joyce A. (Don) Inderrieden and Janet I. (Jeff) Brown; sons James M. (Terry) Kemper and Joseph M. Kemper; grandchildren Elyn Selu, Thomas (Bonette) Smith, David (Susan) Smith, Renee (Kevin) Stickel, Melissa Kemper, Heidi Kemper, Mitchell Kemper, Chelsea Brown, and Jaryd Brown. His first great- grandchild is expected in June 2016. Jack Kemper graduated from Purcell High School in Cincinnati in 1943, and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Army. Jack was sent overseas in 1944 and into combat with the 106 th Infantry in the Ardennes forest. He was taken prisoner of war during the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944, and escaped his captors in April, 1945. Upon graduation from the University of Cincinnati, he married, settled in Dayton, and began a 35 year career as a chemical engineer with the Frigidaire division, General Motors. He and his wife were long time members of Incarnation Catholic parish. He was active with several organizations, including the Greater Dayton Swimming Association, and was an avid bridge player. Funeral arrangements, including full military ceremonies, are pending at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
