Quirky guy. I was apart of his Math/Science tag team class in 2001. I didn't know about this till now. Nonetheless, aside from certain events or choices, I wish I had a chance or took the initiative to reconnect with him. Forgiveness can win in the end.

I was one of Mike's classmates, and I had Mr. Patterson as a science teacher for our 7th and 8th grade years.  Mr. Patterson was always one of my favorite teachers, and his classes were both interesting and entertaining.  My prayers and deepest sympathies to all of you.

I will always remember the trips that your family made to Colorado to visit throughout my childhood.  It was always a highlight to spend time with my uncle, aunt, and cousins.  I always remember the jokes and one liners Uncle Karlos would have, it definitely always put a smile on my face.  As an adult I remember that same humor and zest for life poured into his grandkids at the Splash Park in Myrtle Beach.  My family's thoughts and prayers are with you.

Chris, so sorry for your family's loss. Your Dad sounds like he was a great guy. I know you will miss him. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

A Wonderful Teacher,  Coach and Mentor,  a Good Man.  He will be missed and his memory cherished.  Thank you Karlos Patterson for the love and devotion you gave your family,  students,  coworkers and friends.

The Hit Dr. was one of the smartest people I knew. I fondly remember our Monday meetings at the field for the paper. We'd drink a pop, smoke a cigar and spend five minutes talking Burg baseball and 45 minutes talking technique, situations and about everything going on in the world. He was always a call away when KC was going through a bad spell hitting to offer advice and share a laugh. To this day, I use one of his P-isms... Baseball is pretty damn daily and when you break it down, it's pretty pitchly too.

I will never forget our science class that we had with him my 8th grade year. I had him 1st period and even though our class was horrible acting he made it so much fun. When he moved to the High School my senior year I would stop by his class every morning and try to sell him something silly like Encyclopedias or Vacuum's! My prayers and thoughts are with his family.

Mr Patterson was one of those teachers that you never forget. He had horrible jokes which actually was the reason he was so funny. His class was one of the classes that I actually looked forward to. Not only because I liked science, but Mr Patterson made learning fun. My heart goes out to his family.

Mr Patterson was a great science teacher in 8th grade and then later at the high school.  He always kept the class entertained.  I thought it was really cool that he was the Varsity Baseball coach when I was in 8th grade and they would always call from the office to ask him questions about the uniforms that he wanted to order.  He was a great guy, my brother respected him so much!!!  My deepest sympathy to the family.  But, I bet if there if baseball in heaven, which I believe there is, he's probably playing and not just coaching.  Rest in peace Mr P

I was a fellow teacher along with Karlos for many years at Wantz Middle School in Miamisburg. As his hallway neighbor, I was always amazed at Karlos's superior teaching skills, his dedication to his student's learning and his consummate professionalism as an educator. My prayers are with his family and friends.

Pam, I was so shocked and saddened to learn of Karlos' passing. Karlos was a good friend to both Bill and me.We loved having him stay with us when he came to Athens for O.U. baseball camps, During the evenings we would sit on our porch and share stories while Karlos smoked his cigar. I remember one time a lizard climbed onto the screen and surprised Karlos. Then there was the time we were sitting in the living room and a mouse scampered past him.
He jumped up on the chair and wouldn't sit down until Bill set the mouse traps. Bill teased him about being afraid of "Mickey".  We had a good laugh over that one!  Karlos was definitely not a "country" boy. I want you to know how much Karlos meant to Bill. He was Bill's closest friend. Bill admired and respected Karlos more than anyone he knew. Bill believed in and supported Karlos 100% during his lifetime. And, now their spirits are together once again. I especially loved that Karlos always talked about you and the boys in such loving and affectionate terms. He had so much respect and admiration for his family. He was proud of all of you. May God's blessings and grace grant

Coach P. will be greatly missed! He was always one phone call away, and a guy I knew would always give me his honest opinion. After playing for him in HS he became my mentor and more importantly good friend. My heart is heavy. Pam, please know I am here if you need anything.

So sorry for your loss! I went to school with Mike and live on Jamestown. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family!

The world is a better place because of you.  I thank you for all you gave to coaching young people to better themselves and especially their character.  I am eternally grateful having known you. You made my life possible.  Thank you and rest in peace.
