Marie Regina Mascarenas Romero

Romero, Marie Regina, age 69 of Miamisburg, passed away August 14, 2013 at Sycamore Hospital. She was born October 31, 1943 in Koehler, New Mexico to the late Augustine and Isabel (Lucero) Mascarenas. Marie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert E. Romero Sr; her sons, Robert E. (Jackie Pietrzak) Romero II; Mark A. (Abigail) Romero; grandchildren, Abbie Marie Romero; Keanon E. Romero; Jacob E. Romero; brothers,Augustine (Clara)Mascarenas; Frank (Linda)Mascarenas; James (Melanie)Mascarenas and her sisterRosalie(Joseph)Mascarenas. Marie grew up in Raton, NM and graduated from Raton High School before moving to Albuquerque, NM to begin her employment with the US Federal Government. During her career she worked for the US Treasury, Veterans Administration, US Navy and Air Force Departments. She worked for the Department of Defense at Wright-Patterson AFB, Fairborn, OH until she retired as an internet developer/ web master. Marie enjoyed a variety of hobbies such asporcelaindoll making, pottery, painting, knitting, crocheting, cooking, travel and spoiling her grandchildren. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Church, a past member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, a supporter of community causes such as schools, church fundraisers, veterans, other local events andvarious professional associations. Marie had lived in large cities like Los Angeles, CA and Albuquerque, NM, but she loved her life in Miamisburg, as it reminded her of the small town she grew up in. A memorial mass will begin 7:00 PM Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Our Lady of Good Hope Church, Miamisburg. Marie's wishes were honored with a private cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Good Hope at 6 S. Third St., Miamisburg, OH 45342 or to a Cancer researchorganization of the donor’s choice.
