Marion (Bud) Current, 78, formerly of Miamisburg, Ohio, passed on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at his home in Olathe, Kansas. He was born on August 11, 1947, in Dayton, Ohio, to Harold and Doris Current, both of whom preceded him to heaven.
He was peacefully reunited with his “Gift from God”, Jean, who preceded him in death four years ago. He has been patiently awaiting their reunion since that time. He loved her deeply, and their love grew from the time they began dating in 7th grade throughout their nearly 54 years of marriage.
He prayed fervently to be a father, and God granted him a beautiful family that he was so proud of. He is survived by his daughters, Amy (Brian) Levi and Kim (Todd) Keller, and his son, Jeremy (Tammy) Current. He is also survived by his brothers Rodger (Pat) Current and Doug (Audra, deceased) Current, and brother-in-law Jerry (Sandy) Lay. He loved his grandchildren (Nathan, Adam (Hannah), Holly, Lauren (Tyler), Jillian, and Samuel, and many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed talking to others about how every member of his family faithfully serves the Lord.
Bud’s skills ranged from music to woodworking to building, to restoring cars, to cooking, to the ability to fix just about anything. This talent was reflected in his professional career which spanned piano moving and tuning for Hauer Music, assembly line work at McCall’s Magazine, dump truck driver at Runyon Trucking, stocker and truck driver for Freedom Foods Grocery, and Semi Trailer Dump Truck driver for Montgomery County. Bud’s integrity, interpersonal skills, and work ethic allowed him to excel through the ranks to retire from Montgomery County as the Chief Operations Manager of the former South Incinerator.
Since retirement, he liked to say that he was a professional do-nothinger, but it was far from the truth. Bud was a grateful man. He knew where his blessings came from and allowed God’s love to flow through him to encourage others in a variety of tangible ways. He loved Jesus and knew that Jesus loved him, which made the days worthwhile and offered the hope that sustained him through it all. He’s Home now, and God’s kindness to him is evident.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE FUNERAL HOME, Miamisburg. Rev. Todd Keller will officiate a service at 10:30 a.m. with a burial to follow in Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.gebhartschmidtparramore.com.
