It has taken me a while to do this and it still doesn't feel like you are really gone. Maybe that is because you were the kind of Uncle who I didn't see or talk to daily or even weekly, but somehow we always knew what was going on in each other's lives. One thing I knew...you were happy. That made us all very happy.

You were always our biggest supporter. Somehow (Ria!) you managed to show up at Dan's game against Cinci clad in Seton Hall gear rooting us on, n
ot thinking twice about all the dirty looks from those Bearcat fans! 

You were like that with everything...there was no half-way with you.

When Grandma died, you were the first one to get her slideshow going and you made it extremely special.

You set an example of what we should all strive to be. I am so proud that you are my Uncle.

Love and miss you. Winnie the Pooh once said, even if we're apart I will always be with you in the heart, and that is exactly how I feel.

Mike, you know I am long winded so I am sure you are not surprised I have more to say.  I just want to thank for for marrying Ria and giving her and the kids such a wonderful life.  Courtney and I always loved coming over to the house.  It was so fun being around such a loving, happy family. We never left that Courtney did not say how she wished she lived there.  And coming from  Courtney you know what a compliment that is.  Anyway, we will never forget the times we spent with you and Ria both in the Burg and in Florida.  I will never be able to look at a remote car alarm the same way again.  Alex and Courtney still laugh when we bring up the van. I am chuckling now as I type.  Mike, you were the best there was and I am so thankful you and Ria found each other.  Even though it was for only a short time you both loved and lived each day like it was your last.  Your story is a wonderful example of how really good things can be. We love you, Judy and Courtney

O.k. I think I am ready to do this.  First of all Mike, wherever you are, I love you and miss you so much.  Mike was the best friend any girl could have ever have-next to Ria of course. He was always so happy and fun to be around.  One of his best traits was his ability to listen.  I remember Mike would sit back, let me vent, think about it, then blurt out his opinion. Nine times out of ten he was always right.  Mike was a people person and took care of his friends as well as his family.  I rank Mike Bridewell right up there with my dad and nobody ranks anywhere near my dad.  I have a million stories but the ones that I hold near to my heart are the stories that took place while our boys were playing sports.  There was nothing Mike would not do to help his boys out.  One day Nick was playing in Georgetown and we went down early so Mike could replace the fuel pump in his explorer before the game.  One minute he was under the car and a little while later he was all clean and cheering Nick on to victory.  Another time Weston and Nick were playing each other in a JV game on a Monday all the way down in Williamsburg, Kentucky.  Mike called me and we decided to go.  We left in the afternoon and drove to Williamsburg.  Mike was wearing Georgetown orange and me Cumberland burgundy.  When we got down there Mike felt he should sit with the visitors from Georgetown.  In the end he did not sit on the Georgetown side.  He simply turned his shirt inside out and sat on the Cumberland side where we were joined by his son Drew.  That game was a tough one and Nick broke his nose and had to get stitches.  All the way home Mike was worried sick. He kept calling Nick to make sure he was doing o.k.  That day we drove 4 hours down,4 hours back and sat through a grueling football game but it was one of the best days.I will always remember the smile on Mike's face when the boys walked off the field.  This is the smile I will always remember.  Rest in peace Mike, I love you.  Judy

OMG, We were out of town when Mike passed. I just found out today of his passing by his dear wife and best friend Ria. We are so sorry we missed his funeral! We would have been honored to show our love and appreciation to Mike and his family! Mike was such a awesome man and it was always a great time to be in the presence of him and Ria! MIke was an old school guy that I had a lot of respect for.  Other than my interview with the commander, Mike was the first person who reached out to me when I joined the 445th back in 2006.  He was always on it...always energetic.  I consider it a real honor to have had the opportunity to get to know him and his family.

We only knew Mike and Ria for just about a year.  What we remember most about Mike is his friendly, welcoming manner.  He was easy to get to know, fun loving, great laughs, fun times....and hugely in love with his girl, Ria....you could see it.  If I had to pick a memorable moment, it just has to be the Bengals game.  Too much fun!!  We only knew him for a year, but miss him like a brother.

Chiefy will be dearly missed by all of us! Charlie can get his shirts back and the lady at the bowling alley is still sorry for the last salad you had! we always had a GREAT time!

Mike, you are an outstanding human being and I am proud to have known you.  I know wherever you are you have everyone laughing and keeping them straight all at the same time.  You are good at that!  I wish we had more time together here.  To Mike's family, I am very, very sorry for your loss.  I know Mike leaves a great void.  I met Mike only a few months ago during a conference for work in Long Beach, CA.  We were coworkers and became friends quickly.  We talked on the computer and phone almost daily about work, family, and life in general.  He was a good man and we will all miss him dearly. It is always a sad time to see a loved one depart from family and friends.  I assisted Mr.(Chief) Bridewell with many functions as a managment official, and through his retirement from the 445th Airlift Wing.  He did not want to retire, as he loved his people and the job that he held.  I never thought that I would be giving his family my deepest sympathies.  My eyes are filled with tears, but my heart is larger for having the time and pleasure of knowing a true and genuine person.  I am so glad that I had the opportunity to see his smile.

Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted. He never knew my name he called me, "smiley". Every day he would said "Good morning do you alway smile"? I would reply back and say "The lord woke me up i have no reason not to smile about his goodness". Something happen that night!!!!  He came to me in my dreams and told me he wasn't dead. I woke up that next morning with the BIGGEST SMILE ON MY FACE. Why he choose me to delivery this message? I guess because of the many, many ANGELS I HAVE ON MY DESK AT WORK. I COULDN'T keep his message to myself I had to share it with his loved ones. I pray this little message will help the family during the homegoing of a man that hated no one he was a "GENTLE GAINT". GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

When I first met Mike if was when my son Tyler was playing Miamisburg baseball. We intantly became friends. Mike was that kind of guy. I will miss him saying "hey man how you doing" Even though I moved to Nashville Mike and I kept in touch almost every month. I know how much he loved his boys, family and Ria. He was a great man.... Now when I hear the phrase " I want to be like Mike...I will be thinking of Mike Bridewell.  If more people would be like Mike the world would be a better place.

I was put on 2cd shift,   not by my request, but after only a couple of weeks I knew I wanted to stay on that shift. He was a good supervisor and a great friend. We had a lot of good TDY's together.
