She was born in a holler in Mary (Wolfe County), Kentucky, on January 8, 1932. Nancy was the eighth of the nine children of Cora (Little) and Stanley Banks and now is the last one to pass away.
Nancy came to Dayton, Ohio with her brother to seek employment. She met the love of her life, Robert Jones, and they were married in 1950. They celebrated 68 years of marriage until Bob passed away in September 2018. Nancy is also preceded in death by her parents and a son, Robert Michael “Robbie” Jones.
Faith and family were the guideposts of her life, and generations of offspring have benefitted by being loved by her. Nancy is survived by her children Earl (Jane) Jones of Springboro, Ohio; Cheryl (Richard) Hilliard of Canal Winchester, Ohio; Randall Jones of South Bend, Indiana; and Angela (Andrew) Fuleki of Baltimore, Ohio. Nancy was beloved “Mamaw” to nine grandchildren: Jayson Hatfield, LeAndrea Miller, Elizabeth Jones, Brock (Chelsea) Hilliard, Evan (Christine) Jones, Rachel (Douglas) Hamann, Zachary Fuleki, Lauren Fuleki, and Brooke Fuleki; and to 16 great-grandchildren: Benjamin Hatfield, Alexandria Tucker, Lawson Miller, Cameron Miller, Lincoln Miller, Rylan Miller, Audrey Hilliard, Cecilia Jones, Autumn Hatfield, Andrew Jones, Dorothy Hilliard, June Hilliard, Felicity Jones, Reuben Hamann, Mabel Hamann, and Xavier Jones. She is also survived by niece Mina Anderson and other loving nieces and nephews, many wonderful members of the First Baptist Church of Miamisburg, as well as other friends.
Nancy worked for many years at General Motors’ Inland Division, but her true career was hearth and home. In the not too distant past, a perfect day for Nancy would be tending to her home and garden, going shopping for a bargain or two, talking on the phone, discussing the next house project with Bob, cooking a great dinner, then sitting on the porch swing with Bob and Bella the dog, perhaps reading her Bible but always waving at neighbors passing by. More than anything, she wanted to be right with the Lord and have a loving family. To her last minutes on Earth, she knew she had exactly that.
The family will receive visitors at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home in Miamisburg on Friday, November 29, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Funeral service will follow at noon, also at the funeral home.
