

passed peacefully June 17, 2012 at his home in Dayton, Ohio. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 28, 1934. Ron was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State University, in Michigan and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Florida State University. He worked many years as a banker in Michigan and Florida. After moving to Vermont he became President of the Addison County Chamber of Commerce and then Business Manager of Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union. Ron was a Unitarian Universalist and a dedicated Buddhist practitioner. He was a talented author, musician/composer, actor/director, and woodworker. He spent much of the first part of his life as a peace activist and environmental activist and later years practicing peace through his Buddhist meditation and teaching. He spent the past few years writing a Buddhist blog, www.buddhistbelief.com where he also shared a memoir of his remarkable life story, Lost and Found. Ron is survived by his wife, Susan Rink; and his children, Larry Rink (Karen McHugh), Jeanne Hey (Ken), Julie Rink (David Bohrer), Jessie Barton (Joe), Jason Rink and step-daughters, Lisa Chandler and Jessica Jenkins (Jeremy) and 6 grandchildren. He also leaves behind a multitude of friends and family who love him and will dearly miss his soothing voice. Ron Rink’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 30 at 11:00 A.M. at the Miami Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 8690 Yankee St., Washington Township, Ohio 45458.
