

WILSON, Vernon, born in Middletown, OH, March 20, 1926 passed from this life into eternal glory on August 3rd. He was a faithful Christian serving others throughout his life. Vernon was a WWII veteran serving in the Philippines and in Japan. He attended Fairfield High School then graduated from Miami University in 1949 and the University of Cincinnati, College of Law in 1952. He practiced Law in Miamisburg specializing in Domestic Relations and Probate Court; was City Prosecutor from 1958 to 1964 and served as Judge in the Miamisburg Municipal Court. During his career he was on various civic committees and boards. He was most proud of his service in helping to incorporate the Christian radio station 93.7 WFCJ in 1958, remaining active on their board until the time of his death. He was an active layman in the Middletown, Miamisburg and Centerville Churches of God, serving as Sunday School Superintendent, Adult Bible Study teacher and Chairman of the Board. He also served on church State and National Committees. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank L. and Jennie L. Wilson and eight siblings, including his twin. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mabel; their three children, Lu Ann (Alan) Nitchman, Doug (Roberta) Wilson, Debra (Stan) Vavra and five grandchildren, Patrick, David, Molly, Kelsie and Jenna. Friends and family may visit from 5:00-7:00pm on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral services will begin 10:00am on Tuesday, August 9 at the Miamisburg First Church of God, 446 N. Heincke Rd, Miamisburg, OH 45342 with Rev. Eric Spohr officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in honor of Vernon to WFCJ radio/Strong Tower Christian Media at 7333 Manning Rd., Miamisburg, OH 45342.
