

MOORE, Wardena Turner, age 75 of Miamisburg, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Sycamore Hospital. Wardena was born August 4, 1941 in San Antonio, TX to the late Warde Richard and Connie (Clanton) Turner. She is survived by her adoring husband of 55 years, Braxton D. Moore; devoted daughter and son-in-law, Zena and Bill Jones of Miamisburg; grandchildren, DeNell (fiancé, Cory Sayne) Jones of Cincinnati and Will (Staci) Jones of West Carrollton; sister, Maribelle (Harold) Sutton of San Antonio, TX; sister-in-law, Marie Presley of Alabama; niece and nephew, Donna Presley and Melvin Presley Jr. and her little friend, Peewee (rat terrier). Wardena was a 1958 graduate of Harlandale High School in San Antonio, TX and obtained her beautician license shortly after. As a devoted wife and mother she successfully held many jobs during her working years including, professional childcare, banking positions and office administration. Wardena was an extremely talented seamstress having worked in bridal and formal alterations as well as “custom” designing a number of pieces for her beloved daughter. Wardena’s moxie was obvious in her ability to relocate her family numerous times to meet the demands of her husband’s employment and raise a well-adjusted, gracious and loving Christian family. Her primary objective was always her faith by finding a church home upon arriving in a new community, then employment, followed by supporting her daughter’s schools. She attended the Assembly of God churches and was able to enjoy reading, crocheting and embroidery in her spare time. She always found time to volunteer for the organizations her family was involved in and was an incredible cook. Family will receive friends and loved ones during visitation scheduled for 10:00 – 12:00 PM Monday, August 22, 2016 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 pm also at the funeral home and officiated by her son-in-law Pastor Bill Jones. Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville will serve as Wardena’s final resting place. Memorial contributions may be made to Miamisburg Assembly of God at 501 N.
