Alma graduated from Carver High School in Delray Beach, Florida.
She was joined in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Linbell Lewis, Jr., on January 2, 1970. They moved to Ohio in 1974 after Linbell was honorably discharged from the United States Navy. Together they had four children, Lisa (Anthony) Lockhart, Sandia Lewis, Shannon (Jamie) Brabson, and Linbell Lewis III.
Alma worked at Cuyahoga Community College and Berea Nursing Home. She was primarily a homemaker and stay at home mom, who enjoyed baking and canning. She was well- known for her delicious banana and zucchini bread; and her seven-up cake was more than worth the wait.
She was an avid collector with an impressive collection of salt and pepper shakers, Thimbles and Thomas Blackshear figurines. Alma also loved Teddy Bears.
Alma Lue Lewis (Reed) passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 26, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
She is preceded in death by her brothers Lonnie Charles Reed, Otis Reed, Howard Reed, Jr. and her sister, Deloris Akins.
Alma is survived by her mother and father, Carrie and Howard Reed; her sisters, May Lee Graham, Carolyn Featherstone, Norma Jean Chouloute; her brother, Herman Reed; her four children, Lisa Lockhart (Anthony), Sandia Lewis, Shannon Brabson (Jamie), Linbell Lewis III (Brianna), 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a host of family and friends.
