

Guy Smith, a beloved father, devoted fiancé, accomplished engineer, and avid explorer, passed away on April 10, 2023, at the age of 58. He was born on July 20, 1964, in Akron, Ohio, to his parents, Charlie and Mary Smith.
After graduating from Akron University with a degree in mechanical engineering, Guy went on to earn his MBA at Ashland University. He devoted 29 years of his professional life to Tenneco, where he worked as a chief mechanical engineer where he developed lifelong friendships. But it was as a father that Guy found his greatest joy in life. He took immense pride in his sons' academic accomplishments and was a constant source of support and encouragement for them. Guy loved spending time with his family, and they enjoyed many outdoor activities together, including hunting, fishing, and hiking. One of his fondest memories was hiking the Grand Canyon, rim to rim, with his sons and fiancé, Josie.
Guy was a passionate traveler and had visited many parts of the world with is beloved fiancé, Josie. He had a deep appreciation for different cultures and loved immersing himself in new experiences. Some of his favorite destinations included Italy, Patagonia, and Norway.
Guy was well liked by everyone, mostly due to his positive energy. Guy had incredible patience, and always made time to help others. He touched the lives of so many people. He will truly be missed and will never, ever, be forgotten. Guy will be remembered as a kind and loving father, a devoted fiancé, a dedicated engineer, and an adventurous explorer. He is survived by his sons, Isaac, Zane and Quentin, his fiancé, Josie Desiderio, and his siblings, Leslie (Rick) Urdiales; his nephews Shawn (Caitlin) Smith, Mike Jarrell. And many special friends. Guy was preceded in death by his sisters; Linda Smith and Julie Jarrell.
A celebration of Guy's life will be held at A. Ripepi & Sons Funeral Home, 18149 Bagley Road, Middleburgh Ohio, on April 15, 2023, at 1:00 PM - 3:00PM.
