I remember Herb building a wall on his detached garage so no one could steal  the restored muscle car inside. There was no way to get the car out other than take down the wall. His then girlfriend, Charlene, was amazing with horses. I called her one day, frantic that the horses escaped the pasture and were walking around in the parking lot of the body shop where I worked on my car. She came right away, identified the leader and led that horse back to the pasture. All the other horses followed. So impressed.

My husband and I met Herb in 91. We moved in across the street from him. One  cold wintery day Dave was working on his truck outside and Herb walked over and offered his garage to him. 
Since then we have had became friends and had many conversations, projects and lots of Maxwell House coffee. 
We have learned so much from Herb . 
From envelopes and budgets ,to wood working , making wood projects , planing, sanding,(i learned about different wood working tools,how to use them and what they are called )  how to cut angles , use a miter saws ,table saw and wood planers (when planing he always told me make sure there are no nails !! ) He also taught me the proper steps to staining,framing,and hanging drywall 
(I learned what the term 18”on center meant and he always said “measure twice cut once “) He taught me about pluming. He also , told me the steps to take, to trouble shoot a friends garbage disposal. Which I might add worked and she was super happy . 
I can go on and on about things that Herb has taught us both , which we forever will be grateful . 
I will never forget what he has taught me and will use his methods in many projects to come. 💙
Herb was a very knowledgable ,hard working , kind, caring and loving man who would go out of his way to help others in any way he could.💙
Herb is truly going to be missed by many .

My name is Paul Mueller, Herb and I became  close friend's and neighbors during our high school years . Herb was always available to help ! I recall Herb and I had our first pizza  from the old Pizza King located in old Berea.  Throughout  those years I have fond memories of the good times and a couple of times we got into minor trouble !! But Herb senior was there  supporting us. Unfortunately, we both took different paths in life and I lost contact with him and his family. My condolences to the entire Floreske family and friends.   

When we bought a fixer upper on Adams St. Herb helped me rehab it on a daily basis.  He worked very hard and taught me how to do plaster repairs.  I got pretty good at it and was able to help others with what I learned from Herb.  He was a good friend and a good person.  We grew up together in Berea and remained friends from when we were kids until we were old men.  Not many people are lucky enough to have a friend like that.   I will miss him a lot.  He was a good friend and will be missed by many.


My wife and I met Herb about 25 years ago  through one of the nicest families  "Nidas" whom we lived next to on Eastland across from Herb. Like clock-work Herb was in his lawn chair everyday same time,same place with his coffee. Countless hours were spent just sitting around shootin the breeze. Those times will be missed dearly. Years later we had moved across town and kinda lost touch with everybody for a bit. Well, the hardware store he worked at was right around the corner from us so what do guys do??? we always go to the hardware store. This is where we would see  Herb frequently.  We always made it a point to go into the back where he was screening to say hi and quickly catch up with how he was doing.  Herb was a very proud,helpful ,caring person. It is very hard to believe he is gone. He was well known in this small town and will be missed by many.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. God Bless.

Herb was an amazing guy who always gave a helping hand to others. Herb has always been a part of the family to me and has taught me so many things growing up that I will never forget. I will cherish all the memories I have with him, from just hanging out drinking coffee, to going to car shows and Bob’s Big Boy, or fishing at all the great spots he knew. I will forever be grateful for all he has done for me and my family. I have always valued Herb’s advice and appreciate him always being there for me. I know Herb has left an impact on so many and will be missed dearly. My condolences to his family and friends. I am keeping you all in my prayers. 

Herb was a book of knowledge that I always tried to tap into to learn as much as I could growing up. From a very young age to almost 33 he has taught me so much and I will forever be grateful! He was a great man that would help anyone if he was able to. He will be missed my so many! Lost a good friend and mentor in many aspects. My condolences go to his family, loved ones, and friends you all are in my prayers!

He came to my house many times to do plumbing work with Dave who also worked at Brown's.  I'd always spend time talking to him about his Nova I believe.  That was my all time favorite car.  I also saw him and visited at various local car shows.  I really liked him.  I believe his dad used to work with my dad many years ago.

So very sorry for your loss. Herbie was my dad's buddy & they talked most every day, I'm sure they are busy catching up now. He was a great man 


Herb not only was a great friend but took care of me like family for almost 5yrs that says miles of his character...going out of his way to do anything you needed. He will be greatly missed. I promised him I would never leave Charlene alone n it’s 1 promise I’m honored to keep.

A true loss for many . Probably the hardest working , honest and generous person there could be . Always friendly and eager to help out . Many years of Saturday mornings spent with him working on his 63 Chevy . Memories never to be forgotten . Will truly be missed.
