John was born in San Felipe, Venezuela. He spent his early childhood in Bagheria, Sicily before immigrating to the United States with his family at the age of eight. As soon as John started school in the U.S. he began making lifelong friends, who continued to support him through life’s milestones and challenges. In high school, John enjoyed electronics class, which would later become the catalyst for his career. At the age of 16, he met Sheri, the love of his life and they were happily married for 43 years. Together they built a partnership rooted in love, trust, and resilience. Whether chasing dreams, raising a family, or simply navigating everyday life, they tackled it all as a team.
As a successful global salesman, he was sought out for his expertise and knowledge within his industry. Throughout his career he created meaningful friendships that extended far beyond the workplace; his colleagues became some of his closest friends and many of them stood by him for decades. His work ethic was undeniable; he never let his ALS diagnosis define him. He persevered and continued to work up until his last day.
John was a true family man. He cared deeply and provided for his girls and would do anything for them. As a father, he showed unwavering support to both Erika and Megan’s dreams and adventures. He could tackle any project, big or small with his ingenuity and resourcefulness. He had a love for all Cleveland sports, especially the Browns. His sense of humor was infectious, turning even his toughest days into moments of comfort with a joke or what his family often referred to as “Johnny-isms.” As a Nonno, he always made sure to find ways to connect with his grandchildren, whether it was attending their games or events, playing “Pie Shop,” or just hanging out together watching the latest episode of American’s Funniest Videos.
John was a pillar of strength and reliability for those he cared for most. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and laughter that will never be forgotten. His steady devotion to family and friends touched countless lives. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the memories we cherish and the lessons he shared. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
